THE JUDGE WASHINGTON COUNTY DESERVES
The numbers are startling; the stories are heartbreaking. Across the country, tens of thousands of our military veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan are struggling to return to civilian life, and often they don’t succeed. Veterans right here in Washington County end up homeless, facing addictions, plagued by mental health issues and struggling to access community supports and services. Far too many of these men and women find themselves in a place they never imagined – the criminal justice system. More often than not their problems can be tied directly to their military service.
It’s time to give these heroes a chance at the American Dream which they’ve fought so hard to preserve. That’s just one of the main reasons why I am running for judge of the Washington County Court of Common Pleas.
As a lawyer and former Army Major, I am proud that our sitting judges had the foresight to create a Veterans’ Court to handle the influx of these cases which are straining our justice system. But none of these jurists is a military veteran. I believe only a veteran can fully understand the issues and extreme hardships faced by our service members and their families.
This website will help you to learn more about me and my credentials which I believe set me apart from the other candidates in the race.
I hope you will find that my service as an Army Lawyer and more than 20 years experience as a community lawyer give me the common sense and hard work ethic which you deserve on the court.
I am asking for your vote on May 21st.
Very truly yours,
Veteran for Judge
